DNRC-DEQ As construction progresses on the new Montana DNRC-DEQ co-location building with mass excavation, utility work and engineered fill under the building footprint. Footing excavation and formwork is also underway. Project Superintendent Kirk Hammerquist is working with sub-contractors to minimize construction impacts on neighboring roads and neighbors utilizing safety cones/signage/fencing, construction entrance pads, and water cleanings on adjacent streets for dust and mud control. The site work includes on-site utility and earth work as well as the establishment of a new city street and utility corridor called Timberwolf Parkway. A new storm drain collection and detention pond system is being installed to control storm water from both the site and the new Timberwolf Parkway. The structural walls and trusses for the 18,000 square foot main building are being fabricated off-site while the site work and foundation preparations are underway and will be erected on-site in October. A similar approach is also underway for the adjacent 5500 square foot Fire Cache building and will follow in step with the main building effort. The Owner has requested that construction be completed no later than November of 2009. |
