Truss Training Triumph

The first of many trusses were successfully raised and set at The New Fire Hall for the Smith Valley Volunteer Fire Department on Monday, November 5th.  Hammerquist Casalegno, Inc. and crew spent multiple hours in preparation for completing the job of setting the longest trusses ever set in the State of Montana.  Trusses were 86 feet long, with the heaviest trusses weighing around 6,000 pounds.

On October 10th all employees of Hammerquist Casalegno, Trademark Building Systems, and BMC Truss who were associated with the raising of the trusses were required to attend a safety meeting on the handling and correct procedures of large trusses.  The specifics of Smith Valley’s Fire Hall were discussed at that time as well.

The Smith Valley Volunteer Fire Department’s new building is slated to be complete mid-March 2008.  Architect is Mark T Johnson Architect, Ltd. located in Kalispell.
